Hello! Welcome to Love, Adventure!
My name is Helene and I currently run this little corner of the internet. I have been wanting to start a blog since I knew what one was, but never knew what I had to say that might be of value to anyone.
I am an American living in England at the moment. I have lived in Mexico and Italy before coming here, and since being in England I lived in London, Manchester, and now Brighton. Yes, I get around. I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Anthropology. Exploring the world around me is just who I am personally, professionally, all of it. I am always interested in learning new things about the world; food, language, rituals, all of it. Traveling is not just the sightseeing to me. These are locations that have been subject to geographical, political, and social factors that shaped them and created a culture that we get to experience today, which is a direct result of the past. This is why I like to include a bit of history when I can, and when I am familiar with it in my articles.
I have been living abroad and traveling for the past three years, and over and over again people want to know more about my experiences. I have also had people tell me that I have inspired them to follow their dreams, which is incredibly meaningful to me. So, I thought, why not inspire more people to do more of what they love.
Primarily, Love, Adventure is about my travels. I used it as a way to document what I have experienced. Exploring the world is my passion. The excitement that fills me every time I sit down in an airplane or train is indescribable (You know exactly the feeling I’m talking about!).
Adventures are not simply about traveling and sightseeing. Adventures are simply experiencing new things outside of our comfort zones.
Every day I try to push myself out of my comfort zone, push myself towards my dreams, and appreciate each day as the next is never promised.
This blog is part of that process, so while I hope you can use it as a useful tool to inspire you to go out into your own adventures, travel to new places, try new foods, and more. It is also about my personal process of understanding the world around me, and creating a community around following our dreams.
I also run another blog which is more travel lifestyle related which you can find here–> everydayhelene.com
