Rialto Bridge, Venice Italy

Venice, Italy | 2.0

Interestingly, two years later, I found myself booking an Airbnb for Venice, Italy. This time was different. This time I was bringing my Mom along to experience a taste of Italy. It was her very first trip to Europe, coming to visit me and meet my fiancé, Jaka, for the first time. Venice was our girls only part of the trip (sorry Jaka!) so we took a GoOpti* to Venice to begin our adventure. I traveled to Venice in 2015…

Istrian Pennisula, Croatia | Photojournal

I wasn't planning on writing anything about my trip to Croatia. I wanted to take a trip without having this blog in mind, but it would be a shame not to share some of the photos I took. Croatia is a stunning country and I cannot wait to see much more of it this coming summer. I stayed in Pula which is a port town in the Istrian Pennisula, known for it's Roman ruins. It is a charming town and perfect…

Kraków, Poland

It has taken me far too long to write this article. For many reasons, not sure how to organize it, I started over thinking everything and just stopped writing. Move across the world? Easy. Write about it? Different story. I want to document my experiences. I want to inspire others, not only to travel but to open their hearts to the possibilities of the world and their dreams. So, in May I went to Kraków, Poland. It was a bit…

villa adriana hadrians villa

Villa Adriana (Hadrian’s Villa) [Tivoli, Italy]

Villa Adriana, or in English known as Hadrian's Villa, was the Roman Emperor Hadrian's retreat from Rome until he moved there permanently in AD 128. It was subsequently occupied by a few successors but fell into a state of disrepair during the 4th century (decline of the Roman Empire). The site was used for building materials, and valuables were taken. Cardinal Ippolito II d'Este (remember him from Villa d'Este?) had many of the remaining statues and marble were taken for his villa.…

My Most Memorable Travel Moments of 2015

I am incredibly late to this party (Note: I was already late to the party when I wrote this article but I got so busy I lost it and now it is April!!) but I still wanted to do it because 2015 was my biggest year in terms of travel. I visited 8 different countries and about 20 different cities. For a girl who traveled abroad for her first time in Dec 2012, not to bad. My dream has always…

Villa d'Este

Villa d’Este [Tivoli, Italy]

Back in 2014, I was living in England and took a trip back to Rome. It is shocking I have not written about Rome yet but that article will come when I figure out how to organize 1000's of pictures of everything I have seen there and around Italy. Suggestions are more than welcome. Back to the matter at hand, during this trip, I went to Tivoli, a town east of Rome to visit Villa d'Este, a UNESCO World Heritage…

Raglan Castle Wales

Welsh Castles

This will be a picture heavy, text light post. I recently took a two-day trip to Wales to see some castles. Wales is a beautiful place with what I think is an interesting history. These Welsh castles are remnants of days past, each one telling a different story of a moment in time. The first four castles were from this trip, and the final one, Conwy Castle, I went to in December but never wrote about, and well, it just fits…
